Translational Health
& Behavioral Science
CHB fosters an inclusive, interdisciplinary community of scholars engaged in translational health behavior research ranging from human laboratory and mechanistic studies to the development and implementation of novel interventions. CHB advances collaboration and team science by connecting investigators with complementary expertise and extending those connections to partners including healthcare systems, community organizations, and health-focused technology developers. Together, these efforts integrate research, education and training, community engagement, and technology into a cohesive ecosystem that advances interdisciplinary scholarship, experiential engagement, and real-world impact.
Veteran & Military
Behavioral Health
Through the IVMF Veteran & Military Behavioral Health Collaborative, CHB applies its translational expertise to the study and promotion of health, well-being, and resilience among veteran and military-connected populations. Building on Syracuse University’s national standing as the best place for veterans and longstanding partnerships with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and veteran-serving organizations, the Collaborative opens new avenues for advancing and disseminating veteran and military health scholarship. Together, these efforts translate CHB’s collaborative model into expanded educational, scholarly, and applied impact for veterans, service members, and military families.
CHB is a collaborative initiative of the College of Arts & Sciences, the Office of Research, and the D’Aniello Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF). CHB advances interdisciplinary health and behavioral science across research, education and training, community engagement, and technology-driven innovation at Syracuse University and beyond.
